Oven-Baked Shish Tawook

Ingredients:

  • 6 whole skinless and boneless chicken diced into medium sized cubes.

  • 2 Tbsp salt.

  • 1 Tbsp black pepper.

  • 2.5 Tbsp mixed spices

  • 2 Tbsp of vinegar.

  • 3/4 Tbsp Turmeric.

  • 1/2 Tbsp Cinnamon.

  • 1/2 Tbsp Paprika.

  • 3/4 Tbsp garlic powder.

  • 3/4 Tbsp of onion powder.

  • 1/2 Tbsp of chili flakes.

  • 6 Tbsp Ketchup.

  • 1/2 - 3/4 cup of olive oil.


Directions:

  1. In a bowl mix all the spices, ketchup, vinegar and olive oil then add the chicken cubes.

  2. Marinate chicken for at least 2 hours. For better results, marinate for 24 hours.

  3. Line a baking tray with baking paper and place a rack over it.

  4. Thread the chicken into skewers; few pieces per skewer. Don't leave spaces between the cubes.

  5. Place the skewers on top of the rack and bake in a preheated 180°C oven for 15-20 mins.

  6. Using a fork separate the cubes creating gabs between each piece and another.

  7. Bake for another 20-30 mins until chicken is golden brown and fully cooked but still juicy.

  8. Serve with salad, fries or rice.

  9. ENJOY!

 

Note: You can put cherry tomatoes or mini onions between the chicken pieces if you like so.
