Za'atar Breadsticks

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups flour

  • 3 Tbsp of milk powder

  • 1/4 Tbsp of turmeric

  • 3/4 Tbsp sugar

  • 1 Tbsp of youghurt

  • 3/4 Tbsp baking powder

  • 3/4 Tbsp yeast

  • 1/2 Tbsp salt

  • A handful of fresh chopped Za'atar

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • About 1.5 cups of water


Directions:

  1. In a bowl mix all the dry ingredients then add the wet ingredients and knead until a soft dough forms.

  2. Let the dough rise for 45 minutes.

  3. Spread the dough Into a large rectangle with few mm thickness.

  4. Cut the dough into smaller rectangles.

  5. Holding each of the rectangle's ends in a hand, turn one end clockwise and the other counterclockwise to creat the swirl effect.

  6. Place the breadsticks on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

  7. Brush them with olive oil and sprinkle Salt/Sumac/Sesame seeds.

  8. Bake for 10 mins in a preheated 190°C oven then 5 mins for the top to gain the golden color

  9. Enjoy!
